+===== How to find and connect unit in the LAN =====

+When you have switched on the power supply a green LED diode indicating status lights up. At the same time a green diode at the net connector lights up and an orange diode starts flashing .
+==== Getting IP address ====

+With nets TCP/IP (most common ones currently) every item needs its setting:
+    * **IP address**  - identifies the device, it is unique
+    * **Network mask**  - specifies maximum "volume" of the net (all devices in the net have the same)
+    * **Default gateway**  - item's address in the net where enquiries to other networks (e.g. internet) are directed. It is often  ADSL modem.
+    * **DNS servers**  (primary, secondary) - two IP addresses of servers that translate domain names into addresses. They are optional but without them you aren't able to use the internet.
+Once you have connected  Solar Monitor unit to the local network or to your PC (see chapter [[:sim:manual:jak_na_instalaci:sit_lan|Local Area Network LAN]]) you can start setting up IP parameters.
+    * If you want to connect Solar Monitor unit to the company network, consult the network administrator fist.
+    * If you want to connect Solar Monitor unit to your domestic network, it is very likely that there is a DHCP server which assigns the newly connected devices correct setting automatically.
+    * If you want to connect Solar Monitor unit to the PC directly, see the chapter bellow: Connecting to the PC directly.
+<WRAP info> For initial connection with the unit we only to need  set up the IP address and Network mask correctly. It means that your PC and the unit are in the same network. The same network = different IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.99 and 192.168.1.98)  but the same network mask. </WRAP> In default setting the unit has DHCP client regime granted. DHCP server (if there is one in the local network) assigns IP address automatically.
+If there is no DHCP server in your network, connect the unit to the power supply and when the green LED diode Status lights up, press button  Setup three times. in few seconds you will be able to connect to fixed IP address 192.168.1.99.
+To find the unit in the net there is application Etool available (download here[[http://www.solarmonitor.cz/podpora/ke-stazeni/utililty|zde]]). This application is able to find your unit without the IP address settings. \\

+V seznamu se objeví všechna zařízení od společnosti Solar Monitor s. r. o. připojená k místní síti. Nově nalezená zařízení jsou v seznamu zvýrazněna modrou barvou. <WRAP info> V případě, že má jednotka Solar Monitor povolen režim DHCP klient (ve výchozím stavu ano!), objeví se v seznamu až po vypršení prodlevy pro odezvu DHCP serveru, tedy přibližně po 60 vteřinách od připojení do sítě nebo zapnutí. </WRAP> Výběrem příslušného zařízení v seznamu je možno upravovat jeho nastavení, včetně resetování do továrního nastavení. \\

+Pokud máte jednotku přímo připojenou k počítači / notebooku, tak není možno kontaktovat DHCP server a jednotka tedy po vypršení 60 sekund nastaví tyto tovární hodnoty: \\  \\ Tabulka výchozích hodnot nastavení síťě (IP konfigurace) v Solar Monitoru
